As part of its vision for municipal policy on economic development, the city of Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts commissioned Brad Atelier to update its brand identity. The team was tasked with fulfilling the municipality’s strategic realignment:modernizing its image to authentically express a new vision for development and make Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts stand out in the Laurentians. Currently in the midst of its revitalization, the city positions itself as the most accessible, integral living environment in the Laurentians. In order to accentuate the municipality’s attributes, the new brand identity highlights the municipality’s name with a logo where the dashes in the name are replaced with three symbols: a red heart, referencing the city’s warm, dynamic, inclusive atmosphere; a blue circle, representing the lake and the tranquil life of the waterside residents; and a green triangle, denoting nature and the mountains. These three symbols encompass the bond that ties Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts’ residents to their city. Simple yet effective, the new logo enables the city to reaffirm its identity in a compelling way.
The city’s new signature emphasizes this identity by adding a measure of emotion. “Here beats the heart of the Laurentians” not only evokes the city’s geographic position, but also highlights the sense of pride and feeling of belonging that have been generated and passed on to workers, business people, and native and settled Agathois citizens alike.
